Let’s talk.

Hm … let’s start with Bilbao: it is the most modern, civilized and futuristic city of all the cities in Spain that I have seen so far. I came here for the Guggenheim. I caught super-exhibitions: “Richard Serra: The Matter of Time”, “Didaktika” or “Cai Guo-Qiang: I want to believe”.

Initially, I had planned to stay only 5-6 hours in Bilbao, but my train was canceled and I stayed one night. This after I wandered around the city for about 2 hours to look for my hostel / hotel. On the second day I get the same answer: We don’t have a train going to Hendaye. I took the bus. It cost me 8EUR and in 2h I arrived in Hendaye, France. From here I went for the first time with the TGV. Very nice! The extra charge was only 1.5 EUR compared to 6.75 for intercity in Spain. At the ticket queue, I talked to a guy from South Africa and exchanged contacts. The guy was going to Paris and then Barcelona. Nice combo.

I walked through Bordeaux for a few hours, got a jacket from H&M and at around 22:00 I took the night train to Marseilles. On the train I had a short and interesting discussion with a French school inspector after which I slept until morning.

In Marseilles I saw the Basilica of Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde, the port and I walked a little through the small and chic streets. I went to Turin, where I will stay for 2 nights. That’s about it for now. I’ll be back with updates and pictures soon.
