St. Katharine Docks, London, March 15 2016, 11:55 AM.
A wonderful place to work, relax, go out with friends or even live. This day marks a month since I moved to this city and more than 8 years since I discovered it. So far, I don’t regret for a second the decision I made.
Many have asked me: OK, you’re in London, you have moved, everything is beautiful, but what are you doing there? How do you manage to survive in one of the most expensive cities in the world? Well, it’s not easy, but it’s not impossible. I still have some digital projects in Romania, which I work on remotely, recently I signed the first contract on my LTD here and I also drive for UBER. About 50% Brightmedia and 50% UBER. Basically, what I was doing in Romania, but without having a full time job and having much more freedom. And this city …
But the story with London is a bit longer. It started in 2008 when I came here as a tourist and it was simply love at first sight. Since then, I have returned at least once a year. I wanted more and more to transform myself from a tourist into a resident. When UBER entered in Romania, I thought I would try it in this idea in my mind: that UBER can be the company to help me move to London or any other city in the world. I saw UBER as a bridge between Bucharest and London. After a few months in which I tested UBER in Romania, the London opportunity came. I said I would take advantage of it and started working on paper work. I thank Dragos for the mega-support he offered me. With his help, everything went smoothly and in no more than 3 months I had everything ready. We have to take into account that London is a huge city and a step like this needs a well-developed planning, research and at least 3 visits here. I recommend those who want to move to do this to do their research before moving here.
Anyway, I made the decision to move here on December 31, 2015. I was right here for my last documents. It wasn’t very hard to say YES to London π After 1 month and a half of the decision, I took a one way ticket and started living to the fullest every day. I live in a fairly central area, Rotherhithe, but with UBER I managed to discover many other beautiful areas, but also the greater area of ββLondon. It didn’t take long for opportunities to appear on the digital marketing side. Projects came, I made some extra money.
So far, so good.
Felicitari, Adrian!
Insa, intradevar, Londra este si ea in top 10 π Enjoy !
Mda, astia zic altceva: http://uk.businessinsider.com/savills-20-most-expensive-cities-live-work-2016-3.. Sunt mai multe rapoarte, intr-adevar. Anyways, am facut un update π
