I was walking on the seafront in Palma, trying to get some decent shots and suddenly I hear a voice from behind: Nice lens! I turn: A small guy, brown hair, with some glasses covering half of his face. He was walking towards me, pulling a kind of stroller after him. Thank you, I answer politely. Are you a photographer? I don’t know what to answer. Kind-of ..
Well, I find out what he was carrying on that stroller: a very old camera. A kind of hand-made film camera, in which he had been using lenses over 100 years old.
The guy, originally from Argentine, came to Spain 6 years ago and since then he has been trying to bring back photography from his origins. He started working part time for restaurants, shops, hotels, doing events, product photos for about 5 years and now he is a full time photographer. He also has a digital camera. A Canon 5D from what I understand. But he doesn’t use it much. He is more into film photography. Unfortunately, he has no online portfolio, but he intends to launch a website next month. I’ll let you know if I have any news about him.
Another man, another story. More to come …
